Peak Performance Running

We build tomorrow’s athletes today! We believe that athletes perform best when they’re coached consciously not callously.

Built in the Foothills, athletes of Peak Performance Running have competed at the top level of competition from The World Youth Mountain Running Championships, USA Track and Field Regional and National Track and Field meets, and the USA Track and Field Regional and National Cross Country meets.

We believe that we don’t just build great athletes but great people. Our youth are the future and we believe that investing in them will create a better tomorrow. Come find your peak!

Be You with Us

At Peak Performance Running, we’re not all the same. And that’s our greatest strength. We build on the differences in who we are, what we’ve experienced, and how we think. We believe that a community is stronger when it is unique, diverse, and inclusive. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for running, you will find a home at Peak Performance Running.

PROGRAMS

JUNIORS (6-13)

Where Runners Are Made

The Juniors program is where athletes fall in love with the sport. Whether your child has never toed a starting line or is already chasing Junior Olympic qualifiers, there is a group, a coach, and a pace that fits exactly where they are. We race cross country in the fall, track and road races in the spring, with flexible scheduling that works around every other sport on the calendar. No experience required. No pressure to specialize. Just great coaching, great trails, with 50+ All-Americans worth of proof that the foundation we build here goes a long way.

HS DISTANCE (14-18)

Built for Every High School Runner

Whether your athlete is running varsity or lacing up for the first time, the High School Distance program meets them where they are and builds from there. We train in the summer with structured prep for cross country - the winter is focused on track prep, with strength training woven in twice a week in the off-season with one time per week options in their HS season.

Athletes come to us from schools all across the Front Range, training together on the roads and trails around Golden with coaching that knows the difference between developing fitness and burning out a young athlete before they peak. If they have the drive to improve, we have the program to make it happen.

PEAK SPEED

A Real Home for Front Range Sprinters

The 100, 200, and 400 have always deserved their own program. Peak Speed exists because sprint development requires a fundamentally different approach than distance training, and too many talented sprinters spend their off-seasons either doing nothing or running workouts that aren't building the qualities that make truly them faster. We train in the weight room and on the track with a coaching staff that takes sprint mechanics seriously. This program runs in the winter and summer, intentionally structured around your school track season so the work you do with us shows up when it counts.

PEAK ELITE (14–18)

For Athletes Who Want More

Peak Elite is a small, application-based team for high school distance runners who are ready to train at the level their goals actually require. Athletes in this program have gone on to run at Virginia Tech, UCLA, Boston University, Wake Forest, Williams, and more. They've represented Team USA and competed at Nike Indoor & Outdoor Nationals, Brooks PR, and HOKA Festival of Miles. What makes this program work is not just the training or the time standards required to join. It's the culture: monthly team dinners, 1:1 support from Coach Simmons, and a tight group of athletes who push each other in ways other teams simply cannot replicate. If your athlete is ready to find out how good they can be, this is where that conversation starts.

  • I wouldn't be where I am today without PEAK. I started in the PEAK HS program and qualified into Peak Elite. This helped me achieve a major goal of running for a D1 University. I am so grateful for the hard work of Coach Simmons and the team at PEAK.

  • Our son (17) came back so sad that he had to come home from this camp, because he had an amazing time while at Peak Performance camp. Initially, we were reluctant to send him almost half way across the country just for "some running camp in Colorado". But we are happy he joined - our son insisted he really wanted to go. The program challenged him in a wonderful way, provided him fun, safe and beautiful environment (I wish I were there to enjoy those view!), and he met up with similar-minded athletes to run better & faster. Made a lot of great friends, too. He feels more ready than before for upcoming cross-country season.

  • Our kids joined Peak Performance Running In 2018. The coaches are phenomenal and the different training options provide both safe and effective options. Coach Andrew successfully manages to provide appropriate coaching to my more serious 13 year old runner while also offering a more fun laid back environment for my younger 10 year old runner. We really feel a part of the PPR family. If you are looking for a club for your youth runner, I would HIGHLY recommend Peak! Of all the sports my kids do, club running and Peak stand out as the best environment for my family.

  • As soon as I picked kanyen up from the airport, the first thing he said was that he cant wait to go back next year. He also said he learned a lot and everyone was super encouraging no matter what level of runner you are. My son is pretty shy and there were some other runners from his cross country team at the camp as well. They said kanyen came out of his shell at this camp and they saw another, more outgoing side of him. Very thankful for the experience he had at this camp and I will definitely be sending him back next year.

  • Best location, kids, housing, food, training progras, and coaching staff. 10/10 would recommend IF your kid loves running in a positive, supportive atmosphere.
