1:1 Coaching with Andrew Simmons

1:1 Coaching can be a crucial tool in any athletes toolbox. It’s someone invested directly in the advancement of the athlete, someone who is going to take the time to create a program that meets the athletes individual needs so they can see their full potential. Coaching individuals requires time and attention to create a program that balances, mileage, intensity, strength, and recovery. Quite often, athletes can struggle or get lost in large scale coaching environments or can find themselves struggling to have their needs met when they aren’t a top performer on their team. Athletes considering 1:1 coaching need to understand that coaches don’t provide motivation but rather direction to an athletes motivation and goals. Having a coach in your corner is a great way to level up your performance and push you towards your next steps.

Coach Andrew Simmons

Coach Simmons has been coaching runners since 2013 and focuses primarily on youth distance athletes from the 800 - 5K as well as trail and mountain runners. Andrew Coached TEAM USA in 2022 for the U18 Mountain Running Team in Saluzzo, Italy and has helped produce 30+ runners to the collegiate running world at the D1, D2, and D3 levels. Andrew believes that club coaches, and 1:1 coaching can be a useful tool for athletes that find themselves in an environment that doesn’t allow them to full express their talents. Andrew believes that the environment of a club and 1:1 coaching is important for runners to experience as they advance their training. To help young runners advance Andrew believes that runners can get a great benefit from strength training and encourages every athlete he coaches to train in the weight room.
